Don't the Ts&Cs of credit cards prohibit a positive balance on the account ?In my limited experience the banks are OK with the card going into credit by a small amount - due to a refund etc., or as a temporary measure - but any significant amount would result in the holder being contacted to action a transfer to a current account.0

Deliberately putting the card in credit is generally the problem e.g. trying to artificially increase your limit for a big purchase, mistakes / BT / refunds etc they are usually ok with but will normally look to return the funds quickly.NoodleDoodleMan said:Don't the Ts&Cs of credit cards prohibit a positive balance on the account ?In my limited experience the banks are OK with the card going into credit by a small amount - due to a refund etc., or as a temporary measure - but any significant amount would result in the holder being contacted to action a transfer to a current account.0 -
I've had a small credit balance (around £20 if memory serves) sitting on an unused credit card for several years, which they made no effort to return to me. I eventully received it in the form of a cheque when I closed the account myself.

I've contacted them regarding the money but up to yet I'm still waiting. The reason I'm asking about this is to see if I should make a Complaint. Keeping money for that long doesn't seem right. Thanks
Your only complaint would be that they didn't realise you were dense enough to leave/forget about the money in the account. Move on.
