Potential lost shares

I was speaking to my dad a few weeks ago about my Coca Cola sipp shares, he then mentioned that he was given 10 shares of Coca Cola when his company got taken over in the 1980s. He cannot remember anything about what he did with them and to be fair being around 20 years old at the time, he didn’t have a clue what they were. I believe they weren’t worth much at the time so hopefully he didn’t “cash them in”. I have looked all over the internet for a way to trace lost shares. But I am really lost, some websites charge £25 and only search around 30 companies. I have emailed Coca Cola and Computershare with no response as of yet. A little back of background information the company he worked for was Canvermoor.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

As their share registrar, Computershare will be able to confirm whether or not he's on the register of shareholders, although he should be dealing with them on this rather than you, unless you have power of attorney for him? When did he last receive dividends or correspondence?2

Hi,I would suspect there's been change of address over the years, so unless registrar notified, the contact lost.1

10 Coca-Cola shares in the 80s would now be either 160 or 480 depending on when in the 80s it happened. So c. $9,600 or $28,800. Not life-changing but well worth pursuing either way.As Eskbanker said, he should contact the share registrar.2

Coca Cola (UK) is a different entity to that of the US operation.

Most likely has through a number of reincarnations since the 80's. With the European HQ now in Switzerland.1
