Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, feels like a cold, wet and windy start for the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was chicken, pasta in a creamy sauce and rice - we fancied something different from the usual roast. Some LO's of chicken in the fridge so will use that up over next day or so.
Back to work for me today - so what's happening.
Keep safe and well x
nmlc x

Yesterday I whizzed round the house doing what I'm calling a 'deep tidy' of everywhere except the spare bedroom. The cleaning company is coming this afternoon to do the deep clean so I want things to be easy for them. I don't tend to have clutter generally as I don't like surfaces filled with stuff, but the utility room needed a quick sort out. The spare room is now most certainly cluttered which is annoying me - I won't stress about it as it's necessary!
I dislike monday, it's the day I take my medication for my osteoporosis it takes me a day or two to cope with it.
We are on a jolly today, going to see The Strawbridges. We are booked into an hotel for the night. Tomorrow we have to see the dental techie to see how our new dental plates have settled in. He is on the way home.
Laundry to do before we go.
The day bed I had on Gumtree has sold, chap collected it yesterday, so I now have to sort out the sewing room. We are getting a fold up bed instead.
Hi everyone, thanks for the thread nmlc.
Had a nice walk and coffee with my two neighbours yesterday then tackled the mighty ironing pile. I find it okay so long as I have something decent to watch. I went to see Sing2 in the afternoon – I really enjoyed it – funny and great music! Got absolutely drenched on the way home though!
Dry day today and I’m back wfh. Not sure if boss will be in today – expect there’s lots to sort out regarding funeral arrangements ☹
Dinner tonight is prawn and chilli linguine - just DH and I as DS2 working again tonight. We don’t do Valentines anymore – think we stopped a few years ago when it used to clash with us being away skiing at half term. All very commercial – but great if you’re in the first flush of romance I guess!
90mph winds expected in some places today, so hope everyone stays safe today. Hugs to all the poorlies.

I just said Happy Valentines Day to Steve and he said it back, that's the extent of our celebrations. We've never been big on Valentine's, maybe because it's between our birthdays. There are a lot of family birthdays in February and March.
Chris and Crystal came for lunch yesterday, just simple meal of a supermarket rotisserie chicken, baguettes and salad, they had a restaurant cook at home box waiting for their evening meal. The dealings with the framer were much easier than with the opinionated one they had been to.
Laura was calling me last night for help with her sewing. She has my small sewing machine but has misplaced the manual so I was having to wrack my brains to remember how to do things, very difficult remotely.
We're going down to pick up my quilts from the long armer today, it means I will have 5 of them to bind to finish them off, luckily I enjoy hand sewing.
Have a good day.
Morning
Rainy again think it’s set in for the week
Manic Monday again washing done before the sun came up, lots of calls throughout the day and a kitchen that has the usual post cooking air of having a bomb thrown in
Lovely chilled day yesterday and finally got round to making the banana bread. Worth the wait
Ham roast later on with all the trimmings. Some ham left so will use that in a pasta later in the week.
Freezer L/O tuna fish cakes and veg probably spinach and carrots tonight.
One of my all time favourite books Rachael’s Holiday by Marian Keyes has a sequel at last. She was on Sunday Brunch yesterday talking about it. Its hardcover only at the moment so I’ll leave it till the paperback comes out but I’ll devour that as soon as it arrives. I’ve read most of her books including Grown Ups which saved my sanity in hospital last year.
Hope you all have a good Monday
Still raining here - looks like its here for the day. DD dropped little one off for an hour or so yesterday while she got sorted and then she came back for tea - I made fish and chips , so nice and easy. They're off to Butlins in Skegness today for a few days.
Set myself the challenge of walking along to Asda this morning - about 20 minutes walk then I'll get the bus back home. I think I need to start pushing myself to walk a little bit further this week.
Csarina - I think I've probably started taking the same tablet as you for osteoporosis - I chose Monday as it's usually the day I don't start work till lunchtime. I don't know if that will work as I seemed to spend most of last Monday in my smallest room! Will see how it goes today. I hope you don't have too bad a day.
Gers and Scarlet ribbons - hope you both manage to get to Australia this year - it must be so hard when you have to wait so long to see family. I found just 8 months a long time to go without seeing eldest DD last year.
Well I'm going to get myself sorted. Biggest cat chased a strange cat out of the cat flap during the night - they seem to have both lost a lot of fur in the process so the floor needs hoovered! Youngest cat never came home, so I'm assuming he was hit by a car - just hope it was quick for him.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Take care x
A few of you seem to be planning trips far afield good luck with your planning get those tickets booked i love looking forward to a trip we are booked till 2024 ! things seem to be picking up in the travel industry which is good to see
Right happy valentines day to one and all have a good day stay safe warm and dry xx
It has stopped raining thank goodness, the weekend weather was truly awful. Nice trip away although the hotel room could have done with a spruce up, they seem to be in the middle of extensive renovation, I think our room was last decorated in the 70s! Nice staff, breakfast was amazing and the pool was just lovely, so relaxing.
I'm waiting for a chap to come this morning to look at the oven, I'm still having to poke the fan with a chopstick to get it moving but forget about it as I don't use the big oven very often. I dislike waiting in although there's nowhere I need to be.
I think I'll catch up with some tv, went to bed at 8.30 last night so have the Midwife and Pottery Throwdown to watch. I slept for a solid 8 hours so feel quite refreshed this morning.
Have a happy Monday everyone, take care. XX
