From the 1st August 2022 Barclays will start charging for replacement debit cards in certain circumstances.
Replacements for expiring cards, stolen cards, or for replacements linked to anything to do with fraud will continue to be replaced for free.
For lost cards and any changes needed for a card eg) name change, Barclays will replace the card once in a 12 month period free of charge. After that, they will charge £5 per card to replace.
The personalised card service which is currently free of charge, they will start charging £10 each time the personalisation is changed. I believe they will also stop offering this service for youth accounts. This service will still be free for Premier accounts.
Finally, Barclays for a number of months now have sent cards out via second class post taking 5 days to arrive. If you need the card quicker, you can pay £1.99 for them to send the card by first class post instead, taking 2-3 days to arrive.

Good. About time the small minority of people who lose their cards all the time now have to pay for it.4

Makes sense - I know someone who manages to loose their cards 3 or 4 times a year!1

When I worked for a bank in 2007 (not Barclays) they had the same charging structure.
Nobody was ever charged for a replacement card.0
