I lost my contactless card on a night. I cancelled in the morning. There are 2 payments that have taken place that I believe have happened after it was lost/stolen. One for £8. One for £42.50. is there any way of getting this back? Or not. Thanks.
Giving that it happened on a night out and that you 'believe happened after it was lost/stolen' (suggesting an element of doubt as to whether you made the transactions or not) I really don't know whether they'll refund you or not. Very often when I have boozy nights out, I don't rememeber half the transactions of the night before. It will be very awkward if they investigate a reported theft and the '£8' turns out to be for a kebab shop and the '£42.50' for a round of drinks at a bar by you.

Presumably you can see the merchant/transaction descriptions? Do you recognise the companies? I'd hope you're not being opportunistic in the report of your lost card...

I'd be surprised it was at all easy to get these charges refunded, if it was easy then thousands of people would be trying it on.

In theory you can be held for the first £50 though many banks don't charge it - they need to prove your claim is fraud though so they usually don't and just refund it provided you report it quickly and weren't careless with the card and/or PIN (for that sort of fraud). Are there really thousands of people all willing to try and get a couple of low value payments refunded, given that the bank will probably kick them out if they keep doing it?
