unreal tarrifs

Options
I am in the process of writing a complaint to Ofgem but wanted to share it on here. Shell Energy took over my energy when Green folded. I live in a 2 up 2 down terrace in a small village between south and west yorkshire and even working from home for 3 years i have never seen a bill like the one from Shell. There "flexible 6" has a tarrif £20 per KWH for electricity and £3.98 per KWH for gas and apparently is the only tarrif available for customers and is expected to rise with everything else in March.  n short this cap is about as useful as snowmans cap in a desert and i honestly am mortified that they are allowed to trade at such extortionate rates.  Watch your switching people.

PS. I was moved to Green by Look after my bills.com(energy broker backed allegedly by Dragons Den) and when i tried to contact them during the switch they had closed their service and email so support is minimal it seems, i will be progressing my concerns with them also

Pence, not pounds. Read your bill again.

Auto-switching services rarely have your best interests at heart; there's always the risk they will switch you based on the commission offered, rather than on getting you the best deal.

Those are prices in pence, not pounds, and they match the current cap.  You won't get anywhere near them on a fixed rate deal, as they are below cost, which is why the April cap has increased them so much.

If they really are £20 and £3.98 for one kWh, Shell energy will have quite a few crates of bubbly at the Shareholders meeting this year :)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

You can complain to Ofgem but all you will get back is a polite reply saying that Ofgem does not deal with complaints from individual consumers: you will be referred to The Energy Ombudsman (EO). The EO will only accept a complaint for review if you have complied with the supplier’s complaints procedure.

LAMB don't do anything that you can't do just as easily yourself.  In doing it yourself you are in control and don'd get unpleasanr surprises.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Cant see what complaint you have, Green went bust and you were put on the cheapest available tariff at the time (as already said, you have the decimal points in the wrong place).

Stop writing your complaint and throw it in the bin.
