Job application asking if been declared bankrupt?
I am in the middle of applying for a position with my local police force and on the application it's asking if I've ever been bankrupt. When I have applied for previous positions there, I've always selected No.
I emailed the Recruitment team/HR to ask that should I put Yes to that question as I am in an IVA, and they replied YES. I know a lot of people class IVA's and bankruptcy as the same thing but I thought they were different? Forms of insolvency yes, but I'm not sure. If I select yes on the application form, it automatically declines the form.
I'm applying for a job in the force's warehouse, so it's not as though I am applying for a Police Officer or fraud division or anything like that.
What should I do? What are your thoughts on this?

My thoughts are if it specifically says bankruptcy only then the truthful answer is No if you have an IVA."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1

Bankruptcy and IVA are totally different forms of insolvency altogether.
The difference is like chalk and cheese, if it specifically states bankruptcy, and you have not been bankrupt, then the truthful answer is No.

That's what I thought. It also asks if I've had any CCJ's, so to me, if they wanted to know about an IVA then they'd of put it on the application form0
