Zanussi microwave oven combi won’t power up

My 1yr and 10 day old zanussi oven microwave combi oven has suddenly lost all power. No display or any functions, the warranty is a year so just out.
considering the brand, price I didn’t expect this to break so soon, yes it’s got power to it and no fuses tripped as I’ve checked.
should zanussi fix this? Should I go back to Wren kitchens?

Has anyone else had similar problems?
Help, what are my rights?

Ultimately it might be Zanussi who fix this but your rights are entirely with whoever you actually bought it from, so sounds like Wren kitchens if they supplied kitchen and appliances.rocky559 said:My 1yr and 10 day old zanussi oven microwave combi oven has suddenly lost all power. I take it that you have checked all the fuses etc?Life in the slow lane2

Not actually that easy to do unless you are confident taking it apart. Remember there are some big capacitors in there with very high residual charge.born_again said:I take it that you have checked all the fuses etc?
Having said that the special slow-blow fuse inside is the likeliest culprit. I have done it myself successfully with a Sharp m/wave but it was a pain getting the exact fuse needed, both the rating and the size.2 -
I’ve put the multi meter over the main power inlet and no problem there and the cartridge fuse accessed from the rear is fine.0

If that 8A slow blow is intact but no signs of life then it sounds like the transformer.
Time to speak to Wren.0 -
Yes - unless you know what you're doing, do *not* take apart a microwave.Alderbank said:

It's out of warranty - don't expect Wren to help you.
Take it to a Zanussi agent - at least they will have the right spares.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

This forum is about consumer rights. Consumer rights are separate from and in addition to any warranty.Robin9 said:It's out of warranty - don't expect Wren to help you.

I interpret the forum title as meaning it is about the rights of the consumer, be that 'Consumer Rights' or rights under the warranty.
