Beware RAISIN "deals"

After jumping through hoops to set up a Raisin fixed savings account following the MSE blagged link to get bonus payments and depositing the required amount I had a message returned telling me I had not been successful for that offer and that I could select one of their other (NON BONUS) savings accounts. Something a bit fishy going on there I'd say!

There's been at least one other report where a savings provider pulled an offer at the eleventh hour and the saver in question was turned down for the account after applying. It does seem a little unfair not to honour applications made before the account was formally removed by Raisin.

Surely the £50 welcome bonus is for signing up with Raisin themselves and then choosing any of their partners' savings accounts, i.e. if you have to go to another of Raisin's affiliates you'd still get that bonus, or are you referring to something else? Which provider refused the deposit and which one(s) wouldn't qualify for the bonus?quid-itch said:After jumping through hoops to set up a Raisin fixed savings account following the MSE blagged link to get bonus payments and depositing the required amount I had a message returned telling me I had not been successful for that offer and that I could select one of their other (NON BONUS) savings accounts. For the "MSE blagged link", the savings account had to be opened and funded by 7th Feb to qualify for the £25 cashback, see https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips/2022/01/26/#savings

There's a note in the link you posted, added on January 27 [day after newsletter date] to say the MSE-blagged account was no longer available. In any case, the Zenith account had to be opened within 2 working days, which, when done through Raisin, is cutting it a bit fine in any case.masonic said:For the "MSE blagged link", the savings account had to be opened and funded by 7th Feb to qualify for the £25 cashback, see https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips/2022/01/26/#savings

I don't know if the OP picked the Zenith account or a different one (I'd assume it was a different one if only just being told the application was unsuccessful), but the £25 cashback for using the MSE25 code is no longer available on any account.
