This hotel room has proper ground coffee in each room, really lovely. Before I left home yesterday I dropped in to see the owner of the big estate to leave him a birthday card and present. He was being showered by the carer so only had a chat with his wife. My drive down was very peaceful, no heavy rain and the bright sunshine made it a pleasure.I made it to the cinema for 'Death on the Nile' and found it highly enjoyable, such lush scenery, fabulous photography and great acting. I much prefer the less stiff and prissy Poirot of Branagh to the TV version.Today I'll do a little light shopping and then head home. Here's hoping for a smooth dry day again.Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Saturday to all.13

Morning all and thanks for starting us off Gers. The film sounds a good one and your hotel fab.Heading off after breakfast of porridge and berries, nuts and seeds. Sitting enjoying a quiet cuppa first.JackieO this first cuppa is certainly one of life’s pleasures. I’m enjoying your uplifting thread.Rolls and flask of tea with us for the journey, fruit and crisps too. We will have our dog with us so she joins in with any picnic going!
Hope you have as good weekend as possible.Sending hugs x13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Have a safe drive home x I think we are forecast a bit of light rain today and after a 2 day respite the strong wind is due back. Grr.
I had a bit of a restless night, thanks to this Sparkly Cat who still hasn't learned to tell the time. Oblivious to what hour it is she tramples all over me and head buts me to get up when she thinks I should get up and play.
I plan on having the little bus ride to the next town along this morning (postponed from last week due to bad weather) as I still have the little list for odds and sods I get in their Home B's. It's only across the road from the bus stop back again so not far to totter.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies or fed up. Take care one and all, be safe xx

Hi everyone,
I fell asleep relatively early for me but have been awake since 5, grr. Steve's op went fine but he's finding lights a bit bright now his murky lens has been replaced. I'm leaving him to cope alone (he'll be fine) while I go down to Esben wrangle while L & B start sorting through their loft storage in preparation for moving. Hopefully Esben will be fully recovered from his sickness bug and be raring to go.
There's not a lot else happening here so I shall go and shower and get ready for the day, have a good one.13 -
Morning everyone
Wonderful to hear baby news, big congratulations x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, feels like a cold start for the day.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS1 still in his pit he went out last night so still in his pit, but he wasn't late late coming in. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was chicken and mushroom pie, chips and beans for DH, I had fishcakes and veg. Tonight we're having chinese takeaway with some of the oldies.
I was productive again yesterday and still have more to do today and tomorrow but we're happy with what we've achieved and that will be added to tomorrow.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
I would stay put for a while Gers, the weather is truly awful, driving rain and gale force winds. My little greenhouse seems to have sprouted wings and is laying on the grass, it's moved from the deck, down the steps and across the grass. I'm sure it will be broken now as it's quite flimsy, maybe it's the push I need to get a proper one.
Pleased to hear Steve's op went well snoozer, enjoy Esben wrangling.
A friend and I are off to Carlisle for an overnight stay, not looking forward to the drive in this weather but it will be nice to get away for the night.
Washing on the go that can go on the pulley, should be dry when I get home tomorrow. The bathrooms were cleaned last night and the hoover had an outing, will change the bed tomorrow, really can't be bothered right now.
Hope you all have a good weekend, take care. XX13 -

Morning
Supposed to rain most of the day here today ah well great reason to stay in the warm.
Drive carefully Gers
MSE day yesterday upgraded my phone/ broadband yesterday at no extra cost so that’s fixed against price rises for 2 years. Need to tackle my mobile next. Also cancelled Amazon music as there is enough standard stuff on the free version for me then sorted a charger I got from Amazon to return which they eventually agreed for me to just bin it as it didn’t work. Will keep hold of it till the refund lands.
Last night was easy pizza cut it in half so same again tonight with a Caesar salad
Still willing the bananas from a couple of shops ago to go brown then I can make a banana bread. Not had one since the lockdown. If I hard stare at them enough you never know tomorrow may be the day.
Snoozer congratulations on becoming a granny again.

Thanks Camelot - I see that the Rest is closed with traffic going up the Glen Croe road under convoy. 😱 My plan is to leave at about midday. You take care on the M74, it's high up and bleak, have a look at the old A74, I often used it instead to miss the mania of motorway traffic.Snoozer - good to hear that Steve's cop was successful, another worry gone.TA - enjoy your wee trip.Nelski - anticipation is half the pleasure!I've had my cooked breakfast, it's the only time I eat breakfast, and am digesting it before doing anything else.13

Morning, hugs if you need one.
Yesterday was another busy day, the sewing room is almost back to normal, I need to get my head into gear and do the badge for the retreat, otherwise I will forget.......I also need to do some prep work for that and start listing stuff I need to take with me.
A dull morning, looks like rain, we are off to the market for fruit this morning, no veg needed we are still using up from a couple of weeks ago. I need a trip into Melton for fuel, although I might call at Tesco on the way into Leicester on Monday.
Spag bol for supper tonight, not had it for ages, trying to use other meat up.7
