Hi All,
I am moving from London to Sydney and want to take 2 large suitcase's. I'm in no rush for them to arrive.
Can anyone advises what are good company to use with a reasonable price? There's loads out there but I always prefer recommendations, as I have heard of horror stories and excess extra charges.
Thanks in advance 😊

Depending on the total weight you want to take, I'd look at paying in advance for excess baggage. Could work out significantly cheaper than sending them separately.rr68163 said:Hi All,

Moving in the opposite direction - Canberra to UK- my brother bought a VW camper van, stuffed it full of the household goods and made a very decent profit upon arrival in UK.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

If you're on Facebook, try searching for the "Australians Stranded in the UK" group. Lots of advice (good and otherwise) about trying to negotiate the route home, including experiences with excess baggage and shipping services. Good luck!1

My daughter sent her stuff back from Canada by 'Send my bag' - it weighed 30kg, not sure of the cost. She had to enter everything inside the bag onto a form which was taped on the outside, suitcase was tripled wrapped in plastic.£216 saved 24 October 20141

It was several years ago now but I used Sevenseas Worldwide a few times from UK to Aus, just looked on their website and it's approx £125 by sea or £295 by air for a large box 30kg. May be worth upgrading ticket class or picking an airline with a generous allowance in the first place.

Fyi I looked at extra suit case. Roughly 30kg which cost 650 pounds. 100 less than my ticket.0

VW campervans are water-tight so I imagine it swam the wetter parts of the journey.
