Could a hard credit check for a broadband package prior to completion scupper a house purchase?

We're FTBs moving in to our new property by end of month. I want to order a broadband package with Virgin, but I know it requires a hard credit check and I'm a bit worried that could cause our lender (Halifax) to not lend after they do a final credit check before we complete.
Am I being paranoid or is it possible it could wreck the purchase? If it matters, Experian shows me in the 'Good' category, a few points shy of 'Excellent' (it was excellent until recently but the mortgage applications dropped me down). Thanks.

Have a read through the MSE guide to credit scoresThey're not going to turn you down for Broadband. If they saw you'd applied for loans and stuff, they might be a bit more wary.
