Didn’t know about that.
50mph limit with cameras but not sure if these are fixed or just there for the duration of the work.
i have ‘Speed limits’ turned on in settings.0 -
So would you also ban Speed Camera notification signage? Paint the cameras in camouflage rather than bright yellow?
They are there primarily to reduce car speed not to catch speeders (although they do that too).2 -

Speeders do not slow down universally because of cameras, they only slow down for the camera. Increasing the amount of times people are fined it will make them more likely to moderate their behaviour over time, especially if the fines and points become regular and they get close to losing their license.0 -
Think that we are both hypothesising about a situation about which neither of us have any experience since, of course, neither of us have ever exceeded the speed limit.
We're both seriously off-topic, resurrecting old sat-nav kit.1 -

It’s the map updates for standalone SatNavs that I’m not sure about. I guess it’s like buying a new road atlas but more expensive.
The Garmin ones state lifetime updates but I think they’re only available once you’ve paid an extra fee.1 -
Also, you could probably find a generic replacement speaker much cheaper on ebay etc.1

The others for £17.99 on EBay mentioned before are used.

I’ll see if it connects to the software. Might be worth repairing as the minimum cost for a new one would be £90.1 -
Having put the original speaker back in, the sound quality has improved.
Main problem is getting the PC to recognise the Navman.
Have tried getting updated software but W10 says ‘Microsoft ActiveSync can’t run on this device’.
Recommends to get Windows Mobile Device Centre from Windows Update.
It’s probably too old. I may contact Navman to see if they can help.0 -
