Problem with my TV

I have a Sony Bravia TV model number KDL-42W653A and when I turned it on this morning I was getting sub titles and cannot see how to turn them off.I must have pressed the wrong button somewhere.Can someone help.Thanks

What source are you watch? Freeview? Sky? Something else?

Just comes through the aerial but have other units connected ie a Humax box and a Dvd Player but tey should not cause a problem.I have tried all th buttons on the remote but none seem to relate to sub titles.

I printed off the first page but it says select settings then channel setup but when I go into settings there is no option to select channel settings.Thank's for the reply anyway

I have sorted it out now I went into settings then digital setup then subtitle setup and clicked on basic and clicked on Off job done

What a faff about.  The remotes for both my Tosh and Samsung tellies have a button on the handset.

remote top left has the subtitles on/off button.

•  (Subtitle setting)

  Press to turn subtitles on or off (when the feature is available).

I have a different remote as had to get a replacement as mine was faulty

You probably pressed the button on your replacement that's mapped to the Sub button on the original.
