British Gas Electric meter readings gone back to nearly zero!?
Hi guys, was with Peoples Energy and now with British Gas (Was previously with BG before Peoples)
I have an old smart meter that wasn't working great so had a tech come to upgrade the communication box.
Looked to be working fine for a week or so, displaying correct figures but electricity readings suddenly stopped being uploaded.
I looked at my meter and from being around 25000kwh showed 00008!
since a few days its now up to 00035.2
It says the same on the meter outside as it does on the display inside.
Has this ever happened to anyone or is there a logical explanation why?
Thanks!

Has this ever happened to anyone or is there a logical explanation why?Yes, there's a bunch of threads about one particular model of smart meter having a funny turn and resetting to zero, adding extra decimal places at the same time. Possibly in response to an OTA software update gone awry. Here, this thread plus the two it references at the bottom of the first page (although these ones gained three decimal places, not one):You need to report it to your supplier PDQ before they start making up crazy bills.
