Samsung Tab A charging Issue

My wifes TAB A stops charging at 85%, is this down to age (5 years) or is there some way that the battery can be refreshed ?
Apart from the limited charge ability, the battery does still last 3 or 4 hours from 85%
I have tried several different chargers and leads with the same result

This is usually because one of the rechargeable cells in the battery has failed.  They're (in a nutshell) linked together to provide a decent amount of power.  As they are continuously charged and discharged a cell can't hold any more charge as its effectively "worn out".

Nothing else to do but to replace the battery.  It can be done manually yourself but could be quite convoluted:

We have a very old one as well ages to charge to 100% but still lasts ok.

Trying to decide if it's a project to get new battery or just find a deal for something new.

I don't use it so not top of the list.

Is it really safe for a "TECHNICALESS NUMPTY"  to swap out a LITHIUM CELL ?
They can explode in a ball of flames if mishandled.
Incidentally, yesterday - after chargiing from a USB adapter for 3 hours - to 85% - I plugged it in to a large power bank - and within 15 minutes, it w as at 100% !!
