Meter readings

On both my meters I don’t have any readings, so I don’t know how much energy I have used,so how does my supplier know?

Is it a smart meter sending readings directly to your utility company?

If there is any sort of keypad or buttons on the meter then what happens if you press any of them - does it wake up?

It's possible that your energy supplier doesn't know how much you've used.
Check your recent bills. Are the latest readings markd (A) Actual or (E) Estimated?

A picture of the meters would be good, or let us know the make and model
  • Some meters screens hibernate and can be woken up by pressing certain buttons. if screens are blank after pressing buttons let your ES know straight away and they will repair/replace free within weeks

Go to the N3rgy.com website and use the ‘I am a Consumer’ link. You can then download data from your meter. If you can see data in the downloaded files then your meters are connected to the DCC Network which suppliers use to get readings from your meters. N3rgy.com is a registered DCC Other User and it can access your smart meter (with your approval) using DCC-approved secure software.
