Yes, that proves you pay more per unit than anyone else in the country.
I wasn't aware of that but, assuming you are correct, it's a good job I use only a tiny amount.

EON just happened to be the firm I was with when the energy crisis arrived and the price comparison and switching services stopped operating. So I was stuck. The good news, however, is their promise to stop the standing charge if no energy is used for a year. I will see if they honour it with electricity in April. If so, I will stop using mains gas soon after.

Do gas burners not create a lot of condensation at low temperatures ?

They do. Ive got one of those pull chord air fan things to draw out air to take outside.
But yes on cold walls it does in my kitchen.

I will keep a look out, thanks. I previously used an extractor fan hood, above the cooker but, since I stopped using mains electricity, it's one of several appliances no longer used.

Up until the end of November my weekly gas usage was less than 10 kWh per week. I was using a hot water bottle if I was feeling the cold. In December I've used 16.4 units of gas,185.32 kWh so far, that's £18.90 of gas before the SC. Now that it's become a bit warmer the usage has dropped and will be around 4 units, 45.2 kWh per week.
I also layer up with a T-shirt, thermal vest, fingerless gloves, jumper and thick dressing gown up top and thermal long johns and fleece jogging pants down below. That keeps warm most days but if a bit cold I use a hot water bottle. If still cold I will turn the heating on at 16 degrees as I did for the last 8 days.
Someone please tell me what money is

Even at not-so-low temperatures they do. We fitted a fully extracting cooker hood when we had the kitchen done some years ago and it's a complete game changer - although slightly strange to see the outside of a window steaming up when you're cooking!

We switched from gas hob to induction and found the reduction in condensation noticeable.
Very controllable and easy to just set at simmer keeping steam and moisture to a minimum.
