I think it's pretty standard that if you don't fly out, your return flight is automatically cancelled.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.1

I'd definitely call the airline / tour operator to confirm.1

It's a common scenario with return flights. However it may be that you booked as two singles, which can be the case with EJ. Worth checking out though - people often report this on air forums. Also check you can pick up & return car at different places - there could be a one-way fee. As before better to check. Ah! Not sure if you meant car was returning to same airport . . .0

On the main topic of the thread, I needed 3 down filled jackets to allow me to feel 'toasty warm' in my house at just above freezing. Two jackets was not enough.1 -
I have to say that I minimise the use of heating in the cold bleak winter.I tend to wear two fleece jackets and a bobble hat in the house. When watching telly I sit under a duvet and often get a hot water bottle to ease my aching joints. However, I do accept that the approach is not right for everybody. When I was a child we didn't have central heating (and had sheets & blankets rather than duvets).

I just read an article online about the impact of low temperatures on the well being of domestic cats. Here's an extract:
“If your cat is unable to find somewhere warm, their core body temperature could become dangerously low. This could result in hypothermia. They could also suffer from skin damage caused by frostbite.”
The mention of core body temperature fits with my opinion that it's key to my approach. If I am nowhere near suffering from hypothermia, I really do question if there's a higher risk of a heart attack or stroke. I suggest not and I think the official Government and Local Authority advice about low temperatures is a load of rubbish., suggesting everyone needs to heat their home to at least 18C.0 -
The higher risk of heart attack or stroke comes down to the extra stress on the body maintaining temperature. If you are not losing heat to your environment any faster than someone wearing 'normal' clothing in an 18C room, then this would not be a factor. If you are toasty warm, then it is unlikely your body is working hard to maintain your core body temperature.
