Morning, hugs if you need one.
Hurrah - the bedroom saga will soon be over, I hope!! The carpet fitters are due this morning. I am going to ask them to put the mattress back on the bed for me. Then the 'putting everything back' starts. I am still waiting for the chests I ordered. I have emailed to ask if I can get a refund, I ordered them in November and it will be March before they get here. If they agree to refund me I have found some more on another site, and they are in stock!!
Bed in my sewing room has been stripped and the sheets etc and the quilt cover I used are in the washer. If it proves to be a reasonable day I will hang then out. I have been reading about plans for the electricity to be charged at a higher rate if you use it in peak periods........I can use my washer, but not my drier on a time switch. I do dry laundry on the line in summer, but use the dryer from about November to the end of February. We sure are going to be in a mess one way or another.
Sausage casserole for supper tonight, will finish off the beans I opened the other day. I also need to start using up some of the tinned veggies I have in stock.

GERS and JACKIE Re Company Shops. They sell on cheaply food stuff and random other bits that the main supermarkets and stores pass on that is approaching or at sell by date, and which would otherwise go to landfill. To apply for a membership card its restricted to NHS staff (or in my case NHS pensioner) other care workers and front line workers as well as people on certain benefits. They have a few stores dotted around the country but not sure where. They are set out like a small supermarket and what they have each day depends really on what has been donated. Some stuff 50% off and some at giveaway prices (like my chicken fillets and the bag of M & S organic carrots I got for 11p)"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13

Morning all
Just typed a long post but it's disappeared somewhere ....
Really enjoyed ' Belfast' yesterday - though I was shattered after only a couple of hours out of the house.
This morning I have a big bag of little ones too-small clothes to sort - then DD will put them on our local sales page. She always sells them very cheaply so another mum will get a bargain.
Scarlet ribbons - the railway museum at York was somewhere we were often taken to as children, then I took my girls too. One day, no doubt I'll take little one
Csarina - you'll be pleased to get your bedroom finished.
TA - excellent bargains
Red ruby - glad it went well yesterday
Snoozer - hope little Esben is ok
Camelot - try not to do too much
Apologies to anyone I've missed - hope everyone has a good day
The wind is wild here yet again! x

Morning all. The weather here this morning is very, very breezy and cool but the sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky (yet).
I'm not getting a SM delivery this week so I will need to pop down to Sainsbugs for a few bits and bobs but will be limited by what I can carry so it shouldn't be too expensive. Most of these items are things I can't get on an online order but can if I go in person; I think it must depend on where the deliveries come from.
Breakfast was a couple of rashers of bacon each, a few LO beans and chopped tomatoes (mixed together with a splash of L&P) and a piece of fried bread. For lunch we're having the last of the Xmas Wensleydale & cranberry cheese on crackers and some grapes. Dinner tonight is an easy spag bol from the freezer. That means there will be no bits left in the fridge (for now)
The only other "must do" for today is to clean the filter in the vac. It's a while since it was done and I noticed the other day it's not picking up as well as it normally does. One of those little jobs that gets overlooked.
TA: The veggie chilli sounds nice, glad you enjoyed it.
Jackie: Well done to Mikey on his Uni offer. I know what you mean about bad planning - my 4 GCs all have birthdays later this month within 8 days of each other.
Have a good day all if you can, thoughts with those who're are finding it tough. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Morning all, ramping up to full awakeness on second cup of tea..I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday after my early doors for the blood letting. She stuck a piece of tape over the cotton wool and when I tried to take it off, it took a bit of skin with it so that's a bit sore. Will try and remember for next time and ask for a plaster. I did start going through the photos I transferred from my phone to the computer to put them in order of when and where, there are three and half thousand of them, at least half can probably be binned but it's taking it's time, not helped by the numbering system, for example, thee different sets of photos are numbered 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a 2b 2c etc, so I can't just shift and select a bunch of them. Been watching alot of Life in the Sun and being envious, so to dispel that, I have three loads of washing when OH brings the basket down. Nothing like work to keep you from thinking. The postie has just been to return the box I sent to my friend in Spain. Lotsof hot sauce and mince pies for us then..And I see Mr Musk has lost a good chunk of his satellites thanks to a geostorm, let's hope they don't fall on someone's head.No camelot, still not got car back. Take a bit easier maybe too!..Jackie, congratulations to your Mikey, bet he's over the moon. Liking the new thread too, it's nice that it has actually stayed positive for the most part so far. Nelski, what a bloody cheek! They're not lawyers on a retainer, you pay for a service! Glad you got your computer back, don't know what I'd do without mine..TA, it is sensible,if you're using your stock, it's all good
Ruby, well done! Nanny said she's a bit under the weather and hopes to be back soon..

Afternoon all, I've been into town this morning to get something DGS needed for school tomorrow. I went in Poundland and got a few bits and then treated myself to a nice coffee in a lovely little cafe quite near my bus stop. Got home and had some yogurt and nuts as a late brunch. Just finished when DH rang to say he was going to the chippy! I have now started cutting down ready for DN wedding in May in Greece so I resisted temptation.I like your new thread JackieO
& well done Mikey
TA like the sound of your bargains.Ruby- good news!Take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11
