Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, not such a cold start for the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg, chips and beans - was delicious and good amount of gammon left. Tonight will be a quick dinner of egg and bacon sandwich for DH not sure what I and DS1 will have, I may have jacket potato with some LO gammon and salad.
Today I'm on a day off, and have as usual a big "to do" list really need to get it done. De-pit of house is coming along but you just don't realise how much stuff you have!
Keep safe and well x

Morning Everyone
Wet and breezy this morning, not sure if we had the high winds forecast during the night, I was asleep!
Hot wash done last night, everything is on the pulley. Probably won't have enough for a wash tonight so will wait until I have tomorrow's work clothes to do.
Bin day today, the recycling bin is particularly full so will be glad to get that emptied. Coal delivery today thank goodness, I was scraping the bottom of the bunker yesterday.
Hope your panel went well yesterday Ruby.
Have you got your car back yet taff?
Hope you have survived another storm Gers. Great you have your TV all sorted now.
Looking forward to another busy day, we are still very short staffed but all mucking in. I had to take a class of littlies for their lunch yesterday, I was exhausted!
Take care. XX14 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off nmlc.Having first cup of tea - always the best one of the day.In at work this morning and then from home this afternoon. I’ll manage a quick dog walk before I go and then enjoy a leisurely one at lunchtime.Something easy for tea. Will have a rummage in the freezer. It’s still pretty packed and I want it emptying for defrosting.Off to get my porridge.Have a good day folks.
Thinking of many here. Marie I hope you’re ok

Morning
Well it is a bit warmer today which is a bit more comfortable although it seems arctic temps are back tomorrow.
Had a stressful day yesterday just sorting “stuff” out. Sacked my current cleaning company as they cancelled the new person again so it would be over a month since they came and yet they insisted it was OK to carry on charging the monthly finder’s fee. When I told her I would not paying for the month without she said her workload was still high, so she didn’t give refunds. Made me laugh then I sacked her. So found another local lady and my bedding won’t have to walk to the wash itself.
Mum issues too but that’s too depressing for here! Nan where are you? We need the bus on the road
Computer was in hospital overnight having the battery changed but it’s now back and full of energy. I need that surgery too!
Last night’s food was fakeaway donner in pittas with salad and lots of chilli sauce. Made some sprout coleslaw from the last few sorry looking bits of veg in the fridge. Tonight, is a cheese and bacon burger with rest of the sprout coleslaw.
Delivery this morning with eyewatering increases on most things but I have to eat. Freezer is starting to get space in it which is a first.
Have a good day all

Morning everybody. There's just been two huge cracks of thunder here, one sounded like a explosion. Now there is also lightning cracking across the sky and the rain is battering down. Not a good start to the day. 🤭Yesterday I didn't refill the bedroom drawers, only because I got a text to say that the deep clean of my place could be done on Monday 🎉🎉 so that unit will be moved again. Instead I finished off the emptying of the chest freezer in the wee barn then took it all to the tip. It was so awful, all that lovely food wasted but it had been there too long to be safe or edible. At least now the freezer is not using electricity for no good reason now. Once it's fully defrosted the chap up the hill will take it and use it.I'm not sure what the day will hold, there's a yellow weather warning out, though no mention of thunder and lightning (very vert frightening!) so will probably stay put.Happy Thursday to all.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We have a fine but cold day forecast. Much like yesterday. It was lovely to see blue sky and sun most of the day.
DD and I had a profitable run to the Company Shop yesterday. For £23 I got a mountain of stuff, including 5 fresh chicken fillets for £1. Despite my intentions of getting stocks down the freezers are rammed yet again. But with grocery prices rising again it seems sensible. I got 2 beautiful big cauliflower - one is being transformed into cheesy cauliflower soup and the other will make a big dish of cauliflower cheese - one portion for tea and the rest to freeze.
Grounded today so, after my batch cooking I have the excitement of cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. RUBY I hope all went well yesterday. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. It's true what you say about not realising how much stuff you've got - we've been decluttering as we go for a few years now, and it's become a way of life! When I think of the stuff we used to keep saying, it might come in handy, it never did!Hope your panel went well Ruby, and Gers, hope you haven't been blown away.We were quite busy yesterday, by our standards anyway. I collected Dgs from nursery as his mum was having her hair done, and Dh took Dgd for her swimming lesson after school. She likes him to take her, and all he has to do is sit there, she doesn't need any help at all.Dgs will be making his usual visit today, so no doubt we'll go to our local railway station to watch trains for a while, it's all about trains with him. We are thinking of taking him to the railway museum in York, (on the train of course) in the summer holidays. That's the plans for today anyway, he'll probably want to go to the park to feed the birds as well.I've started a card for a friend's forthcoming 90th birthday, and it's turning out quite well. It's a few weeks away yet, but it gives me time to mess about and change my mind as usual.Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks13

Hi everyone,
I was woken by a worried Laura earlier, Esben isn't well, it sounds as if he has a stomach bug but his temp was 39.7. It's gone down a bit now but Laura has College this morning and is treating clients so it's hard to cancel. She's decided to go in and leave as soon as she has finished the treatments. I wish I could go down to help Brian but Steve has his op tomorrow so I can't risk bringing anything back and he needs me to transport him there and back. Hopefully It will only be a transitory bug and he'll bounce back fairly quickly, children are such a worry aren't they.
Scarlet at the station near our cottage in Yorkshire steam trains often stop to fill with water, the Flying Scotsman has stopped there several times and it takes at least 40 minutes to fill so you can have a good look at it before it sets off again. Esben is all about the fire engines - on Saturday we stopped by the local station to look through the glass doors at the engine and a firefighter was in there (it's a part-time station), he switched on the flashing lights when he saw Esben, cue great excitement, he was banging on the window asking the engine to come out.
We took Steve's sister to the station yesterday so we are alone again, I need to have a bit of a tidy and wash the bedding and towels and do a load for us. I have nearly finished my jigsaw, it took me ages to get the sky right, I hate doing it so I try not to leave it till last. I'll have a rummage through the freezer for dinner, maybe bangers and mash, we'll see.
Have a good day.14 -

Morning all
Dry here and a bit overcast no rain due though which is good.
Thank you again for the good wishes, panel went very well, it was a bit daunting there were actually six people on the panel but they were all so nice, I was only in there ten minutes they talked a bit and asked me one question and then they said I had passed ! the lady after me was in there for 40 minutes so my experience with people with LD has obviously paid offThey need to send me some bits through and then they start matching me with people, hopefully it wont be too long before I get started.
House guest is really settling in she was dry overnight again and is starting to play with big pup which is nice to see, we bought them a big bag of frozen fish yesterday which we poached in the oven and cooked them some sweet potato and cabbage, they wolfed it back but she was very windy all night
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this, dw to empty this morning and a wash to go on.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Great news Ruby - well done.Snoozer - I'm sending healing vibes to Esben.Nelski - what a rip off!TA - I've never heard of the Company shop, it sounds good.Izzy - keep gargling with salt water, I'm sure your dentist has said that.Scarlet - got to love a steam train. The wind is rising again, there's a lot of blustery gusts though the thunder and lightning has stopped, thank goodness.12
