Hey 👋🏼
Thank you in advance..
In July 2019 I bought 2x tickets (on my cc) for Leeds Comedy in the Park (2020) which was cancelled due to covid and rescheduled for July 2021.

In July 2019 I bought 2x tickets (on my cc) for Leeds Comedy in the Park (2020) which was cancelled due to covid and rescheduled for July 2021.
In 2021 they announced that it has been postponed again to Aug 2022.
I just received an email today saying they have cancelled the entire event altogether and that we should all contact our respect PayPal or Credit Card company to get a refund.
My issue is two fold.
Firstly I don’t have this cc any longer - I paid it off but I have the transaction purchase/ref number. So how/where can I get my money refunded to?
Secondly am I entitled to interest on my £99 that they have kept for 31 months - and will they have earned interest on my money?
TIA

The card company will send you the money.
Not really, and anyway, what's the interest likely to be on £99 for 31 months? £1.50, perhaps?0 -
Why are the organisers not doing the refunds? Sounds bizarre.
Have they gone bust? In which case they didnt have your money to earn 2p worth of interest on it.0 -
Yup, gone bust. So my 2nd line above applies.
And no, you are entitled to your £99 and nothing else. Contact the old card company.

Paypal simply say passed 180 days.
Might not even be S75 if tickets were bought via a 3rd party.
Op would need to contact card co & provide the details they have. That would allow them to find the transaction. But I would not hold out much hope of any refund.Life in the slow lane0 -
Yes thats a fair point about the 540 day thing. She may have to join the creditors queue then, but to be honest I doubt she will get anything back there either.0

Thanks guys for all your comments. I’m currently gathering info for Mastercard/MBNA they need transaction date and dates of original gig and the subsequent deferred dates which is a ball ache! I can’t remember it’s so long ago. Wish me luck!0

Thanks for confirming, I wasn't sure with cases like this, where you might buy two seats together (a sort of package - different to buying two physical items that could be ordered separately with no difference). Good to know for my next purchase of cricket tickets!Peter
Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.0
