At the moment I'm on a fixed rate until end of April 2022. Economy 7
When this fix ends if can't find another fix thatscompetitive anywhere else can I go on a SVR which has a daily standing charge and one daily rate instead of a daily and night rate like I have now?
In principle? Yes. Your supplier will automatically put you on their E7 SVR so you'll need to call them up and arrange to have both Day and Night charged at the single-rate tariff.

Even without storage heaters you might still be better off on E7, just for hot water.
I don't know how much electricity you use in the summer but if eg. it's 10kWh/day, with 4kWh for hot water:
    • Single rate: 24.10 + 10 x 20.871 = £2.33
    • E7: 24.10 + 4 x 10.795 + 6 x 25.461 = £2.20
You'll need to do the sums for yourself and decide.

Do the sums before assuming that single rate is the way to go.  Some E7 tariffs can be cost effective (or at least cost neutral) even with night usage as low as about 20%.  And should you be able to get it, BG's legendary Zero Fixed Oct 22 tariff is cost effective down to 0% !
