@financial_pickle Stop using LAMB or any other autoswitching service (check Ts &Cs for any exit fees or penalties).  They don't do anything you can't do yourself, and what's best for them may well not be best for you.
Make sure you're not paying more that EDF's Standard Variable Tariff rates.  If you are, phone them (not available online) and switch to it.

I’ve logged on to provide meter readings today and my rate has more than quadrupled since my last bill and we’ve not even hit the April rise yet. I feel sick at the prospect that I now can’t pay as a result of these changes and they’re going to go up even more in April.
This isn't specific to EDF; energy prices are high and will be getting higher in April.
If you look at the fixed-rates currently on offer, all are higher than the current capped variable tariff (ie. the EDF tariff you're on) and almost all of them are higher than the new April cap.

  • It might be worth you signing up to the MSE Cheap Energy Club if you're someone who likes to keep an eye on things yourself with a view to possible changes. Although you could set it up to auto-switch you I think - I believe right now they're not doing so - it's probably better to just use it as a reference tool and instigate any future switches manually.
