Smart Meter

I had an electric smart meter fitted entirely independently without touching my gas meter; I have separate suppliers and see no benefit to getting a gas smart meter.caveman38 said:What work is involved in having a Smart Meter. Do they have to disconnect the gas and remove old meter as well as replacing the electric meter too. It appears that I will not be able to select a fix from April unless I have one fitted.0 -
If you're on dual fuel they'll replace your gas meter too. The smart gas meter communicates with the supplier via the electricity meter.
It's not a big job, hour and a half or so to replace both. After replacing the gas meter the engineer should check that all of your gas appliances are working correctly before leaving.0
