Should I appeal?

I'm in Scotland. Received a brittannia parking notice. I remember paying £1 for 2 hrs but still got this notice through the door. Problem is this shopping centre car park uses number recognition and no physical ticket is printed as proof. You just get message on screen saying "fee paid" I have no way to prove as I used cash. I was parked less than an hour.
I have been advised to ignore, and that I will get lots of threatening letters. The letter was addressed to my husband, I was actually the driver.
Should I email and plead my case or ignore and have to put up with harassment?

Use PLAN A as the NEWBIES thread tells you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The keeper should always use Plan A as advised. At the moment it is safe for a vehicle keeper to ignore if a landowner cancellation is not forthcoming, but that is due to change later this year.
The keeper should always complain to their MP as well

Never reveal the driver's identity, unless you are dealing with an own space PCN. This will still apply when keeper liability is stupidly introduced in Scotland.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

......... and for that reason you might want to change the second part of the second to last sentence!
