Can I save money by paying for some energy upfront before price hikes in April ?
Am I able to pay upfront for any energy at the old rates prior to the April increases?
We did this with VAT a few years ago, and whilst I know its a different situation to that, for those of us who are lucky to have some spare cash, wondered whether there was a way of paying for the energy at the old prices upfront whilst actually using it in the coming months.

Not without comitting fraud. You could over pay and put your account into credit, but the energy is only charged to the account when the meter says it is used and charged at the prevailing rate. Now if your supplier has been estimating readings because you have not been supplying readings, and has over estimated how much you have used, that might not be so "wrong"1
