Lionel Richie cancelled gig- no refund offered

Hi. I purchased 8 tickets to a Lionel Richie concert (plus guests) but was informed less than a week later that Lionel Richie can no longer attend. Viagogo can not offer me a refund because the event itself has not been cancelled. Lionel’s ‘guests’ are still performing. I have no interest in traveling the 50 miles and paying £1200 to see the guests, but no option for a refund. What should I do?

Why did you purchase from Viagogo?  they dont have a great reputation and are based in switzerland. What are the t and c you agreed to?

are the promotors going to replace Lionel as he was the headline act?

edit, just seen he has cancelled all his appearances in Europe this year. I havent looked at them all but the IOW show promoter says watch this space for more news , suggesting there will be a different headliner
  • My husband purchased the tickets. No mention of a replacement headliner. I’m going to see if I can claim a refund from the credit card used.
