I challenged a default Virgin Media placed on my credit file, does it sound like it will be removed?

I'm having difficulty understanding exactly what their e-mail response is saying (it doesn't seem well worded):

They've told Equifax your account is no longer active ie closed.
They won't remove the default as they believe it's right.
They are telling Equifax to change the default from being outstanding to settled.
It should all be updated in 14 days.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -

If the default was paid in full on 31.12.2019 then surely the account should have been closed on that date? Not 2021?0
