"Green Energy"
Going back maybe 10-12yrs i worked for a fabrication company. A lot of industries were moving on to greener energy. These would be hospital trusts, breweries, water treatment works. Also firms such as Unilever, Coca Cola, Eon and many more. I couldn't tell you the ins and outs as i was involved in making chimnies, steelwork and flue systems. Anyway, giant engines were being installed to produce their own energy, with surplus energy being sold to the grid. Yes the initial cost was huge but one company had projected that the 4 engines they had would pay for themselves in 3-5yrs. They were using two to produce their energy and carbon dioxide for drinks, one on standby and the fourth to send to the grid. They were so efficient that they ennded up using one with one on stanby and two sending power to the grid and they paid for themselves in 12 months. You all still awake?
Surely this is being missed by the Government. I've always been led to believe that this was the way forward and i only now about the ones i worked on. Why are we, the public as a whole not aware of these types of energy production? Why are energy suppliers telling us they need to increase tariffs?
