Avro energy demanding I owe them money

Hi all,

has anyone had emails from Avro energy demanding that you owe them money, I moved from Avro energy in march 2021, switched to utility Point, just this month I have had 2

emails which had no name on, demanding I owe them over £100, so I forwarded them to my email phishing, as I thought it was a scam, I always pay by DD upfront and have

had no correspondence from them about any monies owing them in 11 months since I left them, now this.

Then I get an email saying final reminder, if I don't pay it could incur charges as it maybe passed on to a debt collecting agency. They have not sent any physical letter via post.

There is no information on any of emails explaining how they have come this figure either. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Did you cancel the Direct Debit with them before your final bill was issued?

    No one on here can answer your questions though, you need Avro (or technically their administrators) and enquire what it relates to.

    I did my final bill using readings from the 23/9/21 not 25/9/21 but the reading was only out by about 18 kWh on the electric and nothing on the gas as the units hadn't increased between Avro going bust and the new supplier taking over. It's only £3 so I would pay it if they sent a bill. 

    You should have taken readings on the end of the 25/9/21 and submitted them through the link given by Octopus. If your readings were correct each month then you owe nothing given that the readings you gave them for the 25/9/21 were from the meter and accepted by the administrators and Octopus.  
    Someone please tell me what money is

    He left in March 2021...
    OP, simply contact Avro's administrators, ask them to pause the demand while it's looked into, and ask if this does indeed relate to your account, and for what period. 
    If it's moneys owed while you were with them, pay it. If it's after you moved away, inform them as such.

    I moved to Octopus then and everything was settled. I don’t owe them anything plus I’ve had no contact from them regarding this amount before now so I’m not sure where I stand.

    Have they given you any detail regarding the amount? If not then 'prove it' may be the best response.
    Do you recall getting a final invoice from Avro at the time, and if so, do you still have it?
    Regarding the date, if this is an attempt to bill for use that was not billed at the time then the back-billing rules may apply, but there are subtleties that can affect that, like for example, if they refunded a credit balance then discovered there was un-billed use, they can reclaim the refunded credit to set against it.
