Poxy Sports Direct website has shafted me

I ordered some running trainers the other day from Sports Direct. I ordered size 10. I am 95% sure I selected that size because I remember the website instead selecting size 10.5 and I had to set it right.

Anyway I've just had the order processing confirmation come through and it says size 9.5 shoes.

I've spoken with them via their webchat and they won't do anything about it except make me go through the usual return and refund procedure. I don't feel this is fair because I see this as their !!!!!! up, and therefore their responsibility to fix. What can I do so I can avoid paying more delivery costs?

Do you have any evidence you ordered a size 10?

What does your order email state?

I can understand your annoyance, but don't be tempted to refuse delivery as that can create a whole new can of worms.

Seems fairly unlikely the front end would have shown one size and the confirmation email then shows another... this type of functionality will be modular and reused on every item with a size component which would mean everyone ordering size 10 were getting 9.5 confirmation emails.

Having admitted one phat finger mistake its more likely one to chalk up to a PICNIC issue.
  • Is there confusion between US sizes (10.5) and UK sizes (9.5)?

That was my first thought.  If it defaulted to US 10.5 (if the 10 was out of stock) then OP has ended up with UK 9.5
