Good morning everyone and thanks for the thread nmlc.
So lovely to hear you were spoilt Jackie – your post about Jack’s gift made me well up. How sweet of him.
Lovely fundraising idea Florence 😊
Take it easy Camelot
Good luck at the dentist Izzy
Nothing exciting happening here today. There are some things I need to make sure are in place at work as I’m going to a funeral tomorrow. Boss has to present at a webinar tomorrow and hasn’t yet downloaded the conference software onto her laptop – today is the day otherwise it’ll be too late.
Dinner will be Mongolian Beef – new recipe, so will see how that goes.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all the poorlies.

Hi everyone,
It's Steve's birthday today, he now qualifies for his state pension. His occupational pension reduced last year because when it was set up the pension age was 65 so we'll get that back now. Not that I'm complaining, we're more comfortably off than we have ever been, largely because Steve used to put a large part of his income into his pension pot, I used to threaten him that if he left me before we got to pension age I would sue him for every penny!
We aren't going out to celebrate because he has his re-booked eye op on Friday so doesn't want to risk catching anything. We'll probably get steaks and have those tonight instead. The birthday cake was cut into and eaten on Sunday and last night so we'll probably get dessert as well.
His sister is here until tomorrow lunchtime, we'll take her to catch the train at Milton Keynes. She keeps going round the house telling me what we've changed since she was here last, good job we've not done too much, her head would explode.
Camelot, I hope you feel better today, same for you dp1.
Good luck with the panel Ruby.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone
The men worked all day yesterday and almost finished repairing my fence. They're back again now - it shouldn't take them too long I don't think. They put in more fence posts than there were originally so hopefully it will be stronger. It's nice to see my garden enclosed again...in a couple of weeks I have a man coming to repair my shed and put more gravel down.
I felt quite down yesterday morning - just a bit fed up feeling so tired and achy - gave myself a talking to - there's a lot of people a lot worse off than I am! I'm so lucky that I'm not under any pressure to go back to work - my boss wants me to take next week off too and then go back after half term. That gives me a full 2 weeks after this one to hopefully get back to normal.
I've put my bedding in to wash as it's to be dry so it will dry outside. I'll have a walk down to mam and dads for a cuppa once I've hung it out.
Last night DD collected me one of Morrisons Good to Go boxes - for £3.09 I got potatoes, onions, baby corn, a red pepper, green beans, plums, blueberries and 2
nice soft brown loaves. Oh and some rolls. The bread is portioned up in the freezer.
DD called for a short while with little one - she's booked a last minute deal to take her to Butlins next week - little one is so excited! I used to take my DDs to Butlins when they were little - lots of happy memories of holidays there.
Izzy - good luck at the dentist - I had similar done last year - not pleasant but glad to have had it sorted
Camelot - take it easy at work
Gers - hope your TV get sorted
Redruby - good luck with your meeting
TA - enjoy your lunch
Sorry if I've missed anyone - have a good day!

Morning all. Finally got round to trying out the other tv, it's no good, off to sale it goes, it was overscaling and nothing I did could change it. I'll just have to put up with my fifty quid gumtree special a while longer
It's not a hardship though, it does what I need it to do and text is quite clear on it. I moved the thing the computer and tv stand on yesterday to clean behind and under...there was so much dust and fluff on the floor behind it it blocked the hoover. It hasn't been moved since I put it there about 4 ish years ago....Going to be looking for castors for things from now on..and cable tidies. Going to attempt a look at the community larder today. I need a loaf of bread so it's as good an excuse as any to get out of the house. OHs friend thar used to stop off here on his way home a lot fo the time has finally moved into his flat. This has had the knock on effect of using less milk so I may cut the order down this week, we'll see. First time we've had a bottle left when the next lot comes so if this is a trend, I can put a stop to it straightaway. While using the excess for some rice pud. It's been a while since I attempted it, so maybe I'll get it right this time...
Happy official retiring to steve snoozer! Coxy, did ranting at your boss have the desired effect then? Seems a bit calmer since..Ruby, quite by coincedence someone tagged me by mistake [same name, wrong person] yesterday to some dog picture with a big dog and a minnipin...I thought of yours...TA, I can see how that would stay with you..Izzy, I envy them too, mine are rubbish. Ruby, break some legs! Look after yourselves, and don't put too much pressure on yourselves to perform miracles if you're not well...

Morning all,Grey & drizzly here but a bit warmer. I was going to start to stack the 2 big bags of logs we had delivered yesterday but not in the rain! We thought the price might go up later in the year & we'll probably use more if we have to limit the heating going on. I wanted to put some logs at the back in plastic boxes, but they were being used under the bed with tins etc. so I've made a kind of 'pantry' going down the cellar stairs where there is a shelf . It runs level with the ground floor level so gets further from me as you go down the steps so stuff that isn't used much has gone thereI've got some beef stew out of the freezer as we're going to our local football match.DS will bring Dgd but it's too late a finish for DGS. We usually meet up with DB,SisiL & DN, but DB is the only one who can come so he's given a ticket to his neighbour.Take care Camelot & Dp1, hope the panel meeting goes well Ruby. Hope it's a good day for us all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Morning, hugs if you need one.......I will be so glad when Thursday comes, I really am getting stressed about the mess, 4am last night before I got to sleep........My neighbour is coming in this afternoon to lower the bed, its cast iron and there are 2 heights on it, we had it on the highest, but I need a step ladder to get in now, so it needs lowering. Thursday cannot come quick enough. We plan to get the hall done later this year, not so much mess doing that, will probably take 3 days. Had a message from my cleaner to say she is feeling a lot better. I managed to do the wet room, toilet and kitchen, not the floors though, they will have to wait until she comes back.
Rain overnight, its quite chilly though, have just been up to the post office.
DB is venturing out to the garden, things he can do out there.
I have got beef casserole out of the freezer, will do cabbage, carrots and mash with it, no dessert, we finished the jelly last night. I might bulk the casserole out with some beans. I can then do sausage casserole later this week and use up the beans in that.

Morning all. It was very windy again overnight, grey and dull today but it does seem a little calmer.
Last night's chicken pie dinner was much enjoyed and all eaten. Tonight it's jambalaya, easy chuck it all in one pot meal, so less washing up afterwards.
Not much planned for today other than a walk up to the Co-op for a top-up of fresh milk but I'm sure I'll be able to find something to do. Lord knows, there's a long To Do list so plenty of options!TA: Enjoy your day out, I wonder if the good intentions will win!
Gers: Fingers crossed the TV engineer turns up.
IzzyBee: Hope all goes well at the dentists - I’d rather be anywhere than there.
Snoozer: Happy Birthday to Steve. Shame you can’t go out to celebrate but better safe than sorry.
Thoughts with those who're struggling, virtual hugs to anyone needing or wanting one. X

Good afternoon
Had a poor night's sleep, DH made me a cup of coffee at 8.30, I drank it and the next thing I knew it was 11am.
Going to have a bit of lunch then go for a walk.
I've got some beef burgers out of the freezer for tonight but haven't decided what to have with them yet.
Have as good a day as you can 🌻8 -

Afternoon - the TV engineer has been!
When we pulled out the big unit I was appalled at the stoor behind and underneath it so had to do a quick vacuum and dust before he could start, then I went back downstairs to leave him to it. Now it's all done, the new TV is much better. He then installed the new alarms and linked them up.
Jackie - your post from last night made me cry, such a touching moment and a thoughtful grandson. You and your late OH raised such great children and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. So well done.Time for a late lunch.13
