Notification-only Claim - Is this classed as a claim if neither party has claimed?

This is for car insurance purposes.  On search engines, do I add this as a claim or not a claim.  My current insurance has advised on X date the claim will be closed if the other party does not claim.  And this will be a closed claim, for information purposes only without prejudice.

The question is, when finding out new prices, how do I declare this as the only option is Claim or No Claim and the next step is At Fault or Not at Fault.

Very confused and would love clarification!

You are required to declare any claim or incident irrespective of if claimed for... its semantics if its an unclaimed for incident or a nil outlay claim generally. Presumably you called your insurers to advise of the incident at the time and therefore its safest to note it as a claim however there should be nil difference -v- declaring it as an unclaimed for incident.
  • I reported the incident to the police and the insurance.  The other party has not come forward (it was unsafe to stop at the time).  Do I enter it as  At Fault or Not at Fault?

Ask your insurers what they are classing it as, if no claim has been made by either party then its typically marked as non-fault
  • Thank you, I will sign up as a non fault then ring to check or vice versa.
