Are you referring to Wolseley plc? If so, it renamed itself Ferguson plc in 2017. It's still listed on the LSE, LSE:FERG, but it's looking to move its primary listing to the US. In 2021 it sold a UK subsidiary named Wolseley UK but it still has operations in the US.mdoc said:Hi, I have shares in Wolsley but I've just found out the company was sold last year. I've not received anything from them for a few years. I've tried contacting someone but can't seem to be getting any answers. How long before shares are written off? Have I lost my shares?
Thanks for any advice!

Are these held in certificated form? The RNS which announced the name change says that the existing Wolseley certificates would continue to be valid.
"With effect from markets opening on 1 August 2017, it is expected that trading in the Company's ordinary shares will commence under the new name Ferguson plc and with the new TIDM code '(FERG)'. Share certificates in the name of Wolseley plc in respect of the ordinary shares of the Company issued prior to the effective date of change will continue to be valid."

Ferguson has been paying dividends so you should have received these. If not, and these are certificated, I'd contact the registrar.

I'd be worried that you don't seem to have received any communications from them or dividend payments. Have you changed address recently? If so then contact the registrars to make sure they have the correct details.mdoc said:Hi, I have shares in Wolsley but I've just found out the company was sold last year. Rather than holding the shares in certificate form , might be easier to get them registered online.0
