Seeking benchmark - but current provider not on any comparison site
Apologies if this is a double post, but did search and couldn't find any details.
We moved into a rental property and the provider for Gas & Electric is Whoop Energy - which appears to be a business provider, even though this is a domestic property.
We are on the SVT - last bill we got was
Electric
- 95.23p standing charge per day(yes, I know, horrendous)
- 33.33 per kwh
- 95.23p standing charge per day(yes, I know, horrendous)
- 9.5238 per Kwh
One of the issues is that as this is a business provider - it doesn't feature on any comparison site.
Usuage is for a 3.5 bed house(don't ask
Completely aware there isn't likely much we can do on the unit rate, but the standing charge clearly has a way to go!

The best thing you can do is switch to a domestic supllier on the SVT which will be the cheapest tariff available right now.
Many suppliers aren't taking new customers onto the SVT. I think EDF were though, but you had to phone them to do it.

You need to ascertain why you are on a business energy account for a domestic property? The Standing Charge rate is only one of your challenges; the other is VAT at 20%. Whatever you do, do not agree to a change of tariff as you probably do not have a ‘cooling off’ period.1

Switch away NOW.Try EDF, they're taking on customers on their capped flexible rate. You'll need to phone them as you can't get that tariff online.https://www.edfenergy.com/for-home/help-centre/faq/our-tariffs-and-services?steps=23147#chapter-23144-3To check EDF's SVT you can click here:Am I able to sign up to your Standard Variable tariff as a new customer to EDF?
Yes. Bear in mind we can’t offer you a cheaper Standard (Variable) tariff price than your current energy supplier. Standard (Variable) prices are linked to the Ofgem Price Cap.
You can keep an eye on energy deals by signing up to our energy alerts. We’ll let you know when energy prices are coming down, this means we may be able to offer you a better deal than your current energy supplier when this happens.
If you’re new to EDF and want to take our Standard (Variable) tariff, you’ll need to give us a call to be able to do this, you can’t sign up online. You can then chat with our team about the pros and cons to make sure this is the best option for you at this time.
Enter your postcode and then look for the "Deemed" tariff.

Yeah,
This was of the landlord's doing - no idea why they went down this route.
Great(and consistent) advice, so will move to EDF as a matter of priority.0
