I can't get the £ sign to work in Outlook 2000 on a machine running windows XP - I get the # symbol instead.

I'm sure it's something really simple - can anyone tell me?

I've already done that and everything is set for UK English.

What do you get if you type the Hash key on the keyboard?

the quick cheat is hold the alt key and on the numeric pad type 156

Does the £ work in other apps, if so then prob is in outlook. If it is the same all over then most likely something with your system
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

Including your keyboard layout? - should be EN-GB instead of EN-US which is usually the default set by Bill Gates

I get the \ symbol. I've tried all the symbols and there is def. no £ sign there. It's fine in other programmes as you can see because I can type it on here and in word, excel etc.

Thanks for the alt 156 trick - it works. Not an ideal solution but at least I can get the damn pound sign now!
