Gas usage month by month (percentage split)

Does anyone know what the percentage split of gas usage over a year looks like month by month? i.e. What percentage of your annual gas usage is in January, February, etc? This is assuming a house with gas central heating and hot water.
I'd guess that January and February each account for about 20% of the annual amount? And the summer months would be more like 1% each?
Does anyone have any data on this?
Or a best estimate?

  • Thanks Dolor. That's really useful.
If you don't mind me asking, are you based roughly in the south, central, or northern part of the UK?

My rule of thumb is 75% in the cold six months and 25% for the warmer half of the year.

Edit: Which fits, almost perfectly, with the next post!
