Insanely new bite point after new clutch

Hi all, just had a new clutch fitted after the old one was on its way out. Problem is, the bite point is now almost to the floor, I would say after pressing the pedal down fully I lift my foot barely an inch and the car starts to move. It feels really sensitive. Is this a case of just getting used to it or does it sound like the garage needs to take a look?

Sounds like it needs bleeding properly as there may still be air in the lines easy job for a garage to do, take it back
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

  • Wow.
My last car was like that. Had it 12 years like that.
Just thought it was normal. Guess it had a problem.
    Did me no harm though.

I had that when i got a new clutch in a Toyota.

I'd pushback from the garage at the time who said "thats the way its supposed to be".  Then they actually tried to drive it and admitted there was something that needed adjusted.

    Was easily sorted.

It probably didnt, no.  But if i'd went to the effort of spending £££s getting a clutch put in, like the O/P has, i'd like it to operate as it was intended to.
  • Thanks everyone will take it back today and update on the result incase anyone else has the same problem.
  • Update - took it back to the garage and the guy who fixed it told me it has already been bled. He got in and drove the car forwards and backwards a few times and said it feels fine to him, and it's just because its a new clutch. Said it will wear over time and gradually get higher and higher. Looks like im stuck with it this way.

As per OPs comment 2 after yours - that's basically what i've been told by mechanics in the past that i've spoken to about clutch's - brand spanking & the bite is on the floor.

Whether they're right or wrong I've no idea as i'm no mechanic but it seems to tie in with the mechanic OP went to as well & i've never met him before obviously.
