Bristol Energy Threatening Debit Collectors - Is This An Automated Email Or Should I Ignore?

Pay on receipt of bill customer. The gas was used before Bristol/Together went into administration so the debt is real, but if I pay it they money might disappear into a black hole and my new supplier might ask me to pay again. Can they automate the process of passing the debt to a debt collection agency? In theory the company no longer exists.

The administrator has a legal obligation to attempt to collect any monies owed to the company. They will take the neccessary steps to recover the debt at your expense. The company still exists.1

In theory the company no longer exists. The company very much exists and is entitled to collect what is owed to it, that is the exact purpose of the administrators...The company continues to exist in administration until such time as the administrators determine what to do with it having done as much as possible to satisfy the creditors.I can't comment on the veracity of the communication you have received, but if as you say the debt is real then it should be paid...You new supplier is going to be billing you from the day they took responsibility for your supply, not for periods before that.

Your payments are protected by Ofgem's guarantee. If you agree that you owe the money, you should strongly consider paying the bill.fallen121 said:Pay on receipt of bill customer. Then you would point out that the bill was already paid.fallen121 said:

I don't think you have anything to worry about here. It's a normal bill that you haven't paid yet1
