Hi all, moved recently and taken some meter readings after the first few months. Just want a bit of a sense check on whether we are using a lot more than normal or not. Electric is coming up to around 380 units per month and gas at around 150 units a month.
Debt at start Jan 2020 : £15000
Current level : £3934
Total paid = 74%

Last quarter we averaged 231 units for electric. Compared to the corresponding period last year. We've managed to reduce our consumption by 11%.

Are you giving these readings to your supplier every month ?

Not at the moment, just thought it best to keep a running total, especially at the moment.

Guessing that the gas units you refer to are direct from the meter, so, depending on whether the meter is metric or imperial will need converting to kWh.

Think it works out to around 1700 kwh a month for December and January.

    and
It's less than I'm using, and more than my mother is using.
It's a little bit more than we're using, even allowing for my own solar generation; around 9kWh of electricity and 48kWh of gas, per day, in January.
But we're relatively light users for two adults and two teens in a 3-bed semi, and we're in the mild(er) south of the UK.

Our monthly average for the past 2 months is 371kwh electric and 1,639kwh gas

We are in a 3 bed semi, 2 adults and a baby. The baby has cloth nappies so run the washing machine most days and we have some reptiles who have heat lamps to keep warm which will add some on. And we work from home and are in the house pretty much all the time. North west england

My daughter and I (14 years old) in a 2 bed terrace, last 3 months have averaged 115 units a month and 600kwh of gas a month.

About 3.6 kwh's of gas a day and 20kwh's a day of gas. Around 20% reduction in electricity on the last 3 years and 45% on gas.
Sounds great but future standing charges will eat up some of the savings.
