Internal Condensate pipe

I bought a flat last year and I'm having a new kitchen fitted this week, so all the cabinets will be out of the way.

The condensate pipe from the fitted alpha boiler is connected in an odd way, it goes straight down and then across the wall in a straight line also, is this correct? As it was my understanding that they needed to be fitted at an angle or the water won't drain and will stay in the pipe?

The pipe is also sticking out 6cm from the way where it crosses over the hot and cold water pipes and I'm concerned it may block the integrated washing machine from fitting in correctly as that is 55cm deep.

The condensate pipe should indeed slope down towards the drain. By the sounds of it, you may want to re-jig the pipe to get the required slope. In the process, it may be possible to re-route the pipe close to the boiler so that you can avoid having a dogleg over pipes under the counter.
Maybe post a wide angle shot, and we can advise accordingly.

Ok thanks, I Will see what the guy can do tomorrow when they come to remove the cabinets and fit gas pipe and stuff.

The pipe definitely goes straight across the wall to under the kitchen sink.

Certainly scope to rejig the water pipes and condensate drain to make any doglegs/crossovers unnecessary. If you have a decent plumber doing the work, get some advice from him.

The condensate pipe does need to have a slope to aid drainage, but as the pipe is within the building with no risk of freezing, that slope can be absolutely minimal.

    Ok thanks,

Good to know it doesn't need a massive slop inside although it has got cold in the place, can imagine it freezing if we had minus temps again even though it's in the middle of the flat.
