Surety Bond for Deputyship?

Advice needed please on the surety bond for deputyship. After waiting for months I was informed recently that my Deputyship application for my father has gone through. Unfortunately, I have hit a snag with the surety bond. I have just been told by the bond company that I have not been accepted for a bond because they could not find me on a search of the public records as I have opted out of the electoral roll.
In my ignorance, I had no idea that a search would be done, I was under the impression that I would just pay the bond directly to the court, I didn't realise it would be dealt with by a separate insurance company. The company asked for ID which I forwarded to them & they said they will now forward this to the court. So what happens now - will my deputyship be dismissed? Any advice on what I should do now would be appreciated. I really need to get the deputyship in place so I can sort out my father's finances as there are care home fees to pay.

You probably have to wait until the Bond company have gathered sufficient information to satisfy the Bond, All you could do is call them after a couple of weeks to try and progress the matter. Don't worry about the care costs as some delays like this are inevitable.I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.1

I would be interested if anyone else has been through a similar situation?0 -

Have you checked the credit reference agencies to see if they have a record of you?
