Hi, I'm currently on the above tariff wich ends 24th March.

Current useage:

Electricity - 3,119kWh/Year
Gas - 9,059kWh/Year

Unit rates

Electricity: 16.08p per kWh

Gas: 2.66p per kWh

Standing charges

Electricity: 22.72p per day

Gas: 21.00p per day

This ends on 24th March 22.

Currently paying £80.05/Month and in credit.

Octopus have sent me three options:

1. 12 Month Fixed
Estimated Monthly Cost - £187.68

2. Loyal Octopus 12 Month Fixed
Estimated Monthly Cost - £167.22

3. Flexible Octopus (Do nothing and go on Variable Tariff)
Estimated Monthly Cost - £99.27

So, on the face of it the Variable rate looks like a great deal compared to the others. But, is this just the rate applicable in March before the cap is increased and therefore liable to go up to match, and possibly excede, the others in April?

The unit cap for March is 7p for gas and 28p for electric, both of the fixed offers are more than these.
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.

I'm in a similar situation, my tariff also ends near end of March.

I have been provided rates for both the fixed rates, but not the flexible rate. I think this might be becuase I'm on go, but I still need to look at all the options.

What are the rates they are quoting you for the flexible tarrif?

Flexible Octopus varies by region but is around 4p/kWh for gas and 21p/kWh for electricity.
You can find your regional tariff here:
Ignore the "Get a quote" button and enter your postcode, then filter on flexible domestic tariffs and look for "Flexible Octopus".

But that link doesn't work, all they come back with is that I have to phone due to global prices being at an all time high.

Thank you, managed to find mine too, just slightly more than yours.

I guess need to also factor in the 50% price rise ontop too, so my prices are going to be triple what they are now
