Moving to New Build - Energy Suppliers
Hi,
I have tried to find guidance/advice for what do in my scenario but can't seem to find too much relevant.
I am moving into a new build house at the end of this month.I currently stay in a flat with Bulb as my energy supplier. I had initially planned to continue with bulb before they went bust but this doesn't seem like it is possible. The current supplies are Scottish Energy for the developers. Am I best to stay with them? What Tariff will i be put on? Would it be possible for me to get the same tariff that the developer would be on from when they opened the account?
I have used uswitch etc to check comparison but it says that there are no options available for me.
What is my best course of action?
Apologies if this has been answered clearly elsewhere, I know very little about this subject.
Thanks

You must contact the existing supplier - just give them your details and the meter reading - you will go on a standard tariff - resist any temptation to go on fixed tariff. Forget Bulb and transferring of tariff - it doesn't happen that way.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

And check the number on the meter is the one on the bill, It seems to be quite a common problem that they get mixed up.

How did you get on with this? We are in the same situation, our current provider is Bulb and our new build is going to be ready in May. The builder uses British Gas so do we get put on the price cap plan from BG as standard?0
