Applied on-line for my replacement passport on 17th January, it was due to expire in April and (at the time of application) had not booked a holiday.  I sent my old passport to the address they stipulated and it was received by them on 19th January.  The following week-end booked to go away end February and started wondering how long for passport delivery.  Various answers using Auntie Google from 13 days to 10 weeks - not encouraging.  Tried to phone but the message was "if you did not apply more than 10 weeks go, hang up and stop bothering us" and then the phone call was chopped.  Oh well, still had time.  Kept checking the "Track Progress on your application" but nothing until on 28th January multiple e-mails popped into my inbox telling me they had received my old passport, approved my application and printed my new passport!  It arrived on 31st January.  Now that is service and I didn't have to speak to anybody - well I couldn't!
