what maters is what you've been billed for not the dates on the bills. does your starting bill with BG have the same readings as your final bill from PE?

if so you've paid for all of the energy you've used. If not someone might chase you for the discrepancy at some point when they notice.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

British Gas do seem to have handled some SoLR transfers this way. Especially the ones where the Final Bills from the failed supplier took a long time to come. Same for PFP Energy.

Even though BG became your supplier on 20/09 it actually took a few weeks for them to move supplies over through industry process. They seem to have started billing accounts as normal from the date they got the supplies set up (in your case 27/10)

Many have had a one off SoLR Standing Charge added to cover the SCs for the "missing" period. It is assumed they will retrospectively charge for the energy too once the handover readings are sorted.

Nice if they would forget of course!

The approach BG has taken does make sense for them as it lets them commence 'normal' billing from the date the supplier ID changed while they wait for the final bills to be produced by the failed supplier which then lets them bill from the date BG became responsible for the supply up to the date the supplier ID changed.
They can bill for the standing charge earlier because that is unaffected by the final bill from the failed supplier.
Net result is that yes, that missing period will be billed by BG, but only once the final invoice from the failed supplier is produced.
