GAS PREPAYMENT
I have a gas pre-payment meter. If I top up hypothetically £500 today does this mean i have built a "hedge" against price rises in the near future. Will my gas price remain a t todays price until the £ 500 credit is exhausted? If not why not?

The price will change on the appropriate date. When you top up the meter you are not buying kWh, you are simply crediting the account with £ ahead of use.
