  • Yes, assuming the landlord takes over the hills when you leave, then they will. But then as they’ll eating for any power used at that point, that seems kinda fair, no? If you move to another property where you have an energy account prior to the payment being made, you’ll benefit there, instead. The loan is to take account of the increased bills over NEXT winter - not to cover what has already been used!
I don't want them benefitting from the money after what they put me through they are in breach of a council works notice and 2 tribunal orders.
Ok, but that doesn’t mean you will be entitled to money which is being credited against bills that will no longer be in your name. Of course, if you moved out a handful of days after it was paid, that would be entirely another matter…

You really don't have any control over that, whoever is the account holder on the relevant day will get the discount.

  • So Boris answer to the energy crises is to increase the £200 extra dept on every home is to double it to £400. It’s about time people stood up and said we don’t want to be burdened with more dept we want positive action that helps everyone not a figure plucked out the air that makes news headlines and the Tory’s attempt to look good.
I have turned my heating off I can not cut back anymore as have energy saving bulbs throughout. Cook with a pressure cooker two days meals in one so I warm one in the microwave.
Water I run the hot taps into a bucket before the hot comes through and tops up the cistern for the loo with it as well as using the water from the water butt.
When solar and wind is so cheap to produce there is no excuse for our energy being so high.

That's just not true. Wind and solar are not 'cheap', and I'd suggest the current global uncertainty associated with Russia invading Ukraine is a pretty decent 'excuse' as to why prices are going the wrong way.

Having a bit of a Google about this point, all I can see is a couple of places reporting this as a rumour of something that might happen, rather than an official announcement?

Bear in mind that the price rises mostly being talked about haven't kicked in yet unless you've recently switched to a new fixed term deal? You may well still want to save money as you are but just checking you aren't struggling with the heating off unnecessarily right now.

Yep nothing other than speculation at the moment, personally I would rather they scrapped the whole thing, rathe than the stupid loan-not-loan followed by repayments-that-are-not-repayments.

It's better than nothing, so if the choice became to have it or to scrap it I'd personally support the former. It would be good if assistance could be more targeted but how quick/easy this might be to implement is presumably the biggest issue.

    What a considerate reply 👏
I actually don't feel the cold and love fresh air.
I'm still fixed until August so hoping to be more in credit by then.
I can afford an increase but just a tight Yorkshire pensioner...
