Hybrid heat pumps

Hi all
I had an hybrid boiler and a source pump fitted last year.I'm now at the point where I have to arrange a yearly service, to keep my guarantee. However, I can't find anyone local who provides this at a reasonable price. I would really appreciate it, if someone could recommend a company in the Northeast area, who can provide service contracts for hybrid boilers and air source pumps.
Thankyou

Ask the original installer to do it?
Ask the manufacturer (who is it) for a list of their recommended service agents?

What price have you been offered that is "not reasonable" for the first annual service?

Hybrid boiler / heat pump installations are still fairly uncommon.  So there will be precious few technicians around who are F-gas and Oil or Gas (whether Natural or LPG) and Pressure vessel and general Plumbing qualified to do them.  So you may well have to pay a premium or have two / more technicians to attend to different bits?

Is the Guarantee (or Warranty) worth the paper it's printed on?

AS Rodders says, they are fairly rare so those who do installation and servicing are going to be similarly rare. You'll have to get onto the manufacturer or installer to find out who can do it.

Even servicing a basic heatpump commands a fairly high premium compared to a bog standard gas boiler so I guess you can expect it to cost you a fair bit extra over and above what you might consider reasonable.

I've got a simple heat pump and the service guy comes from some 45 miles away, so there's the cost of his travelling time as well as his expertise plus all the qualifications and training that he's had to pay for. If I had a basic gas boiler then there are about 25 Gas Safe plumbers within a five mile radius, so there's plenty of competition.

It costs me twice as much for a service as it would for a gas boiler despite the fact that there really isn't all that much to do and the cost from the manufacturer is eye wateringly expensive.

    Going green isn't cheap.
